Fontainebleau Las Vegas

A Regal Suite with a connecting two queen room, VIP lounge check-in, and a dinner at KYU that blew away every expectation we walked in with.

We just wrapped a one night family stay at Fontainebleau Las Vegas with my wife and our two teenagers, and it instantly landed in our top two Vegas hotels. The trip itself was built around NBA Summer League at UNLV, and everyone we asked told us the same thing: outside of the games themselves, the most events and player sightings happen right here at Fontainebleau. That made the hotel choice easy. Here is the full breakdown of the suite setup, the VIP check-in experience, and where we ate for every meal.

Accommodations:

REGAL SUITE WITH CONNECTING TWO QUEEN ROOM

  • Upgraded to the Regal Suite, with a private bedroom and plush king bed
  • Connecting room with two queen beds, the perfect setup for traveling with two teenagers
  • Three beds total across the two rooms, so everyone had their own space
  • Generously sized living room in the suite for the family to spread out
  • VIP lounge access for check-in

Room Features:

  • King bed in the suite plus two queen beds in the connecting room
  • Separate living area with in-suite dining space
  • Custom Serta pillowtop mattresses made exclusively for Fontainebleau
  • 500 thread count cotton linens and down alternative duvets
  • Floor to ceiling windows with sweeping views
  • Minibar plus a personal refrigerator
  • Marble trimmed bathrooms with luxury amenities

VIP Lounge Check-In:

Skipping the main lobby line and checking in through the VIP lounge set the tone for the entire stay. Waters, snacks, and coffee while the paperwork gets handled, and then you are off to the room. It is a small touch, but after a drive into Vegas with the whole family, it makes a real difference. If you have the option to check in through the lounge, take it.

Breakfast at La Fontaine:

Breakfast at La Fontaine was one of the best meals of the trip. The standouts for us: the caviar tower, the eggs Benedict, the lobster Benedict, the souffle pancakes, and the deviled eggs. The souffle pancakes were a hit with the kids, and the caviar tower is exactly the kind of over the top breakfast move that makes Vegas fun. If you only do one sit down breakfast at the resort, make it this one.

Lunch at Bar Ito:

For lunch we kept it easy and ate at Bar Ito. A solid midday stop that kept us fueled without slowing down the day, which is exactly what you want when you only have one night on property.

The Pool:

The pool district here is a destination on its own, and we booked the Oasis day bed for our pool time. That experience deserves its own writeup, so keep an eye out for our upcoming post on Fontainebleau VIP experiences where we cover the Oasis day bed in full.

Dinner at KYU:

We had heard the buzz about the original KYU in Miami for years, and the Vegas location blew away our expectations. We went big: the short rib, multiple orders of the spicy tuna crispy rice, the Chilean seabass, the Korean fried chicken, and the s’mores cake for dessert. The crispy rice disappeared so fast we kept reordering it, and the short rib alone is worth the reservation. This was the meal of the trip, and one of our favorite dinners in Vegas period.

The Verdict:

Fontainebleau is now in our top two Vegas hotels. As for which hotel holds the other spot, we are overdue for a return stay there, so that reveal and a full review are coming once we go back. We actually considered the Wynn for this trip since we kept hearing a lot of the NBA Summer League action would be centered there, and we stayed there six months ago. After this stay, the Wynn does not even make our top three Vegas hotels. In our opinion Fontainebleau beat it on the things that matter most: the service, the upkeep of the hotel, and the suite layout. Fontainebleau nailed the family suite stay. The Regal Suite plus connecting two queen room is the ideal configuration for a family of four with teenagers, the VIP lounge check-in gets your trip started right, and the dining lineup from La Fontaine to KYU is strong enough that you never need to leave the property. We had an amazing stay, and we would book this exact setup again without hesitation.
